Mr. Patrick Morrison

6th Grade Science Teacher

Patrick began as the 6th grade learning specialist at South Bronx Classical Charter School in 2015. By his second year, he became the 6th grade team leader and has held that position for the past two years. As the 6th grade team leader, he has taught all subjects, but his passion is Science! He has lead his team and students to achieve above-average performance on the NY Math and ELA state tests. At SBCCS, Patrick started and led the after-school community service club, Scholars on Service.

Before teaching, Patrick began working with kids as an Attractions Host in Disney World. Once he returned to North Carolina, he continued to work with kids at the Morehead Planetarium as well as Kidzu Children’s Museum in Chapel Hill. Even while studying abroad in Madrid, he found a job tutoring a young boy in the English language.

Patrick received his BA in Biology and Spanish Literature and Cultures from UNC Chapel Hill. He also earned a minor in Anthropology with a focus in Forensics. During his junior year, he studied abroad in Madrid, Spain where he worked in a lab researching el metabolismo del hierro (the metabolism of iron). Patrick received his Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education in 2017.

Patrick is excited to be a part of the cheerful and open atmosphere at S2! He’s excited to collaborate with students and teachers to give them autonomy in their education! Everyone has a voice and everyone’s voice matters. Patrick is excited to help students at S2 develop a love for Science.
